Recruitment
Looking for a job in the plant hire or tool hire industry? Recruitment in plant hire is currently booming and there are many approaches you can take when applying for a plant
hire related job or career. The most logical step to take (especially
if you have experience in the plant hire industry) is to approach a
recruitment agency to discuss your options. They will often request a
copy of your CV and find out about your prior experience in plant hire
(if any) and how applicable it may be to your future plant hire career.
One plus point of using a recruitment agency is that they will locate
suitable jobs for you and may also process part of your application to
these jobs, however some do see this as a negative point and prefer to
have much more control over the recruitment process.
If this is the case and you are looking to apply for a plant
hire job yourself without the help of a recruitment agency then like
any job you must gather references and ensure your CV is in tip-top
condition before contacting plant hire companies
directly. Often if they are recruiting they will advertise on their
websites so that is the best place to start looking, although if you
have your sights set on a certain position or company don't let the
fact that they do not appear to be involved in the recruitment process
get you down; persistence can often pay off in recruitment related
matters and by contacting the company even if they are not looking for
staff you are making clear your intentions and letting the company know
about you. It is important at this stage in the recruitment process to
follow up your initial contact at regular intervals if you have not
heard anything after a certain amount of time, it is up to you to
decide on these intervals but obviously do not be too hasty or you will
come across as rather impertinent, allow the recruitment department of
the company time to contact you first.
If
you choose to use a recruitment agency (some specialise soley in plant
hire) many have vast experience and knowledge of the plant hire
industry and will use this in helping you get an interview. Obviously
when you do get to the point of attending the interview you are now on
your own and other than some friendly advice the recruitment agency
will be unable to assist you. Plant hire job interviews are no
different than any other and it is important to research the company
you will be interviewing with, nothing will spoil the recruitment
process like failing in an interview because you are ill prepared.
Again the internet can be a very useful tool and you can use it to
research the plant hire companies you are interviewing with before you attend.
