Job losses at Volvo 131

Volvo Construction Equipment from Sweden, part of the Volvo Group have recently announced that they have been forced to cut another 850 jobs, just a short time after 500 job cuts already took place in Autumn.

Volvo have stated that the latest batch of cutbacks will affect the companies facilities in Arvika, Braas, Eskilstuna and Hallsberg in Sweden. The global slowdown in construction and plant machinery has been blamed for the cutbacks.

 Yngve Rosen, president of Volvo CE's Hauler Loader business stated "The actions we are taking now are needed in order to adjust production capacity to declining demand and to ensure that the company is coming out stronger from this downturn."
