Boost for construction industry 131

Posted on by Just Diggers Newsdesk
A new £10 million development has just been signed in Swansea giving the local construction industry a much needed boost. It has been revealed that a number of new, affordable homes will be constructed on land made available for development by the Welsh Assembly Government on the SA1 Swansea Waterfront site.

The industry reports that this latest deal signifies that there is a strong sign of confidence in SA1 by Coastal Housing after they have completed their £12m development of 79 apartments for retired people. The five and three storey development on a one acre site on SA1 is adjacent to the Village Hotel and includes spacious balconies and an attractive courtyard.

This was Coastal Housing's largest privately funded project and is aimed at people aged 55 and over. A new £8 million high specification office development on SA1 has also just been completed and is now on the market. Langdon House, developed by Broadhall Wharfedale with the support of European funding, has achieved the top BREEAM environmental excellence rating.
